Project Description

Displays the Bing Picture of the Day in a nice big gadget with the description underneath the image.
It is also possible to browse through the latest images. And if all this is not enough, the Bing logo links directly to the Bing website!

Project Scope

This gadget is based on the official Bing Picture of the Day Gadget, but shows the picture in its full size and glory.
You may wonder "Why as a dektop gaget and not as the wallpaper?" - easy: the resolution of the image file is just not high enough for modern large monitors. If you still want it as your wallpaper, have a look at related projects.

Disclaimer

The gadget just shows a highly narrowed portion of the Bing website and can therefore be regarded as a customized browser window.
(In fact, Windows Desktop Gadgets are just Internet Explorer windows with no browser GUI.)
It is so marked down, that it only daily fetches the image and its description, resulting in efficient use of ressources.
Bing is possibly the best search engine and also a trademark of Microsoft Corporation in the United States and/or other countries, just like some other words on this page may also be. ;)
